Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence offers course credit internships during the Fall and Spring semesters and during the summer. We welcome undergraduate and graduate students interested in public policy, communications, and research related to sexual violence.
An internship with The Alliance will provide a meaningful experience working with professional staff at one of the state’s leading non-profit organizations. Interns will work with staff to create a semester work plan with a focus in one of the following three areas: Public Policy & Research, Media & Communications, or Publications & Graphics.
These interns assist in the development and implementation of legislative or policy agenda by researching pertinent issues and documenting the findings in fact sheets and reports. They also draft and submit testimony for public hearings at the State Capitol and build grassroots support for priority legislation.
These interns help create press releases and talking points on sexual violence issues. They also help with the development, implementation and monitoring of media campaigns. They must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and a willingness to speak with press and various news outlets.
These interns assist in the development of educational materials for professionals and the general public through presentations, brochures, booklets, and more. They must have experience with creative software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Portfolio samples are required upon application.
Interns should have a willingness to learn, take initiative and be an active participant in community efforts. If you would like to intern with The Alliance, send us your resume with a cover letter expressing your interest and detailing your related experience. No phone calls, please.Email Us
