On Tuesday, The Alliance staff, advocates from our nine community based member programs, and supporters from all around the state came together to mark the beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness Month at the state Capitol. Our Kick-Off Event and Lobby Day was a huge success, and included a press conference with remarks from several state legislators and an issue briefing. Afterward, there was an opportunity for participants to advocate for The Alliance’s legislative priorities in front of their members of the General Assembly. The Alliance thanks all of our partners and supporters who made the day possible, including Representative Gregg Haddad, Senator Cathy Osten, Senator Mae Flexer, and State Victim Advocate Natasha Pierre. We look forward to a month full of SAAM events all around the state and encourage you to attend. Click here to download our Calendar of SAAM Events.
