The Office of Victim Services (OVS), Connecticut Judicial Branch, is the state’s lead agency established to provide services to victims of violent crime.

The State of Connecticut Department of Public Health’s Sexual Violence Prevention Program aims to provide primary prevention, education, training to health care providers, schools and universities, law enforcement, social services providers, and the community regarding primary prevention of sexual violence.

Connecticut Permanent Commission on the Status of Women

Established by the State Legislature in 1973, twenty-one appointed volunteer commissioners join staff and volunteers to work to eliminate sex discrimination in Connecticut. They are to inform leaders about the nature and scope of discrimination, to serve as a liaison between government and private interest groups concerned with services for women.

Since 1973 CWEALF has worked to advance women’s rights and opportunities in Connecticut. CWEALF initiates services to educate and empower women and girls to ensure they have the tools, knowledge and avenues to reach their goals.

CCADV is the state’s leading voice for victims of domestic violence and those agencies that serve them. They are a membership organization of Connecticut’s 18 domestic violence service agencies that provide critical support to victims.

Connecticut Legal Services is a private, non-profit, civil law firm dedicated to helping low-income families and individuals obtain justice. Their work consists of providing civil law representation and counseling to thousands of low-income families and individuals each year.

National Alliance to End Sexual Violence

The National Alliance to End Sexual Violence, comprised of leaders from statewide organizations, prominent national advocates, and local rape crisis centers, works to be the voice in Washington for state coalitions and local programs working to end sexual violence and support survivors.
