Join Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Eastern CT’s team of professionals in our 50th year of providing counseling and support to victims of sexual violence. SACCEC is seeking a full-time Children’s Crisis Counselor to work with a team of professionals at our Child Advocacy Centers in Eastern CT. The Children’s Crisis Counselor will provide crisis intervention services, counseling, advocacy and coordination with community-based mental health resources for children and their families who have been affected by child sexual abuse or severe physical abuse.
Knowledge of the criminal justice system and experience working closely with community partners, such as law enforcement, the Department of Children and Families (DCF), medical, and/or a State’s Attorney’s Office a plus. Prior training in evidence-based counseling, such as TF-CBT, a plus.
The Child Crisis Counselor position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a related field, license preferred, with experience in evidence-based approaches to the treatment of children and families who have experienced abuse and/or violence, or a BSW or B.S. in Psychology, with 5 years of counseling experience. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, and ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
Position requires providing in-person coverage for our 24-hour hot-line, every seven weeks, in rotation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,000 – $64,000 per year
