Confidentiality: The Foundation of Healing

The manual includes information to assist sexual assault crisis centers in protecting the confidentiality of the victims/survivors they serve.  While the manual is not intended as legal advice, it will serve as a reference and information source and covers Connecticut and federal laws and policies regarding confidentiality of communications between sexual assault victim/survivors and sexual assault advocate/counselors.  Sample confidentiality policy and sample forms are included with the manual.

Advocating for Victim/Survivors of Sexual Assault While Protecting Their Privacy

The manual provides practical tips to assist advocates in protecting the privacy of victims/survivors while navigating a variety of systems.  Tips for dealing with health care, employment, multi-disciplinary teams, justice, media, and technology issues and systems are included.  While the manual is not intended as legal advice, it will serve as a reference and information source and discusses how Connecticut and federal laws and policies either limit or uphold the confidentiality of sexual assault victim/survivors.
