CONNSACS hosted a Media event with Connecticut’s leading Latin@* reporters to share and discuss new materials, messages, and outreach to Latin@ communities in Connecticut. With the help of a statewide Latin@ Advisory Committee, comprised of state and regional leaders, service providers and advocates, CONNSACS has developed new linguistically appropriate materials and messages to address sexual violence in Latin@ communities. The materials include a Spanish-language public service announcement for radio and a new Spanish language web pages, plus posters, brochures and postcards in Spanish and English. Too often, materials targeting the Latin@ community are simply translated into Spanish and do not take the unique needs of the population into account. CONNSACS’ materials were designed specifically for outreach to the Latin@ community. Click here for coverage on Univision!
