Lianne Marsella, College Advocate with the Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Eastern CT and Dean Becca Kitchell, Associate Dean of Student Development and Deputy Title IX Coordinator host an educational tabling event and Candy Bar in the Main Lobby at Three Rivers Community College (by the Bookstore). Spin the prize wheel to win a candy bag!
The empty chair campaign is a week-long event hosted by the Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Eastern CT and Three Rivers Community College. The campaign seeks to raise awareness and prevent incidents of sexual violence, stalking, domestic violence, and other forms of interpersonal violence on campuses. During the week, purple and teal folding chairs will be assembled in different places around campus, each featuring a sheet with several fictional accounts from victims of these forms of violence under the banner “Why I’m Not on Campus Today” as well as brochures and resources at a tabling event mid-week to highlight the fact that this sort of violence impacts many facets of a person’s life and can impede their participation in various activities and academics.
