The Alliance Healthcare Provider Toolkit equips providers to better understand the effects of sexual violence and provides resources to build providers’ confidence and capacity to have difficult conversations about sexual violence with patients.

Sexual Assault Technical Guidelines
The State of Connecticut Technical Guidelines for Health Care Response to Victims of Sexual Assault provides health care personnel who encounter or treat patients who report a sexual assault with the knowledge of what constitutes a proper and sensitive response, including best practices in medical treatment, evidence collection, and follow-up services.

The Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners (SAFE) Program
A Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) is a healthcare provider who has been specially trained to provide comprehensive care for sexual assault patients. Available through an on-call system, SAFEs respond in tandem with sexual assault victim advocates and provide timely, compassionate, patient-centered sexual assault forensic examination services to sexual assault victims 13 years or older who present to participating healthcare facilities within 120 hours of the assault.
