Grants & Compliance Manager

The Alliance is the statewide coalition of sexual assault crisis service programs working to end sexual violence through victim assistance, community education, and public policy advocacy. The mission of The Alliance is to prevent sexual violence in Connecticut and foster a statewide network of support for victims and survivors. Summary:

The Grants & Compliance Manager is responsible for the overall management of Alliance grants, grant reporting, and compliance. This position will also manage and reconcile all contracts, cooperative agreements, spending and expense reimbursements including ensuring the timely and accurate documentation and processing. This position reports to the Deputy Director.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement Organizational time and activity reporting, daily expense reports, and travel related expenses for staff.
  • Lead the development and timely submission of all grant-related proposals, reports and correspondence in collaboration with the Operations and Program Teams. 
  • Host grant implementation meetings, quarterly check-ins, and post-award reviews to monitor and address issues as they arise.
  • Create a list of grant allowable activities, approved deliverables, reporting deadlines, and renewal dates.
  • Monitor and audit grant administration and performance to ensure compliance with grant awards, state and federal regulations, and grant reconciliation reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Program Teams to develop and maintain monthly project and programmatic budgets.
  • Assist the Operations Team with monthly accounting closeout process and accounting reconciliations.
  • Assist the Operations and Program Teams with other duties as assigned.

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of related work experience managing and auditing grants.
  • Highly proficient computer skills, especially with Excel, Word, Microsoft Suite and outside websites. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program evaluation methods and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to complex situations and provide clear, concise, and timely solutions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to accurately update and maintain records.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal & written communication skills.

Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to social change and willingness to participate in activities that focus on changing social norms, attitudes, and behaviors that perpetuate oppression and sexual violence.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment in East Hartford, CT

Travel:

The position requires regular in-state travel, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
