May 9 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

This webinar is presented in partnership with Forge. Content will cover sexual assault prevalence rates and victimization statistics, common barriers to services, and specific LGBTQ-focused tactics that might be used in assaults. Concepts like social determinants of health, minority stress, adverse childhood experiences, and microaggressions will be discussed in easy-to-understand ways—linking how they are related to sexual assault within LGBTQ+ populations. Survivor quotes throughout will help frame issues and provide insights into solutions of common barriers.

Facilitator: Michael Munson, Executive Director of FORGE

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • List prevalence rates of sexual assault for L, G, B, and T populations.
  • Describe how Adverse Childhood Experiences play a role in adult sexual assault for LGBTQ+ people.
  • List one barrier and one related solution to better serving LGBTQ+ sexual assault survivors.
