Sexual photos should never be taken or distributed without consent. Each person has a right to their own body, and has a right not to have nude or sexual images of that body taken without consent in any environment or relationship.
Additionally, if a person consents to take and share a sexual photo or video, that image should never be shared, distributed, or posted without their consent. Putting someone in these situations is not only wrong, but illegal. And it’s never the victim’s fault.
No person should ever be put in a situation where they are not in control of creation or distribution of images of themselves, and we should all contribute to a culture where consent, bodily autonomy, and empathy are normalized.
Alliance advocates are here to provide confidential and compassionate support if you or someone you know has been victimized in this way.
