We are excited to introduce three new interns that will be working with us over the next few months: Leann, Kristina and Olivia.
Originally from Albany, NY, Leann is a junior at the University of Connecticut majoring in public health and communications. As a public health and communications major, her focus is on sexual assault prevention and advocacy. She hopes to work in health education and community outreach programs for a state health department or nonprofit field after graduation. Leann is a big sports fan, favoring the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and of course the UConn Huskies. She enjoys taking care of the UConn mascots, Jonathan XIII and XIV, in her free time.
Kristina is a junior at the University of Connecticut from Newington, CT. She is double majoring in women’s, gender and sexuality studies, as well as human rights with a minor in political science. After graduation, she plans to join AmeriCorps and then graduate school for public policy or social work. Kristina heard about The Alliance through the Rainbow Center at UConn. Her hobbies include running, kayaking, biking and reading.
Originally from Wallingford, CT, Olivia is a senior at the University of Connecticut. She is an anthropology major with a dual minor in human rights and criminal justice. She hopes to go into forensics in graduate school to eventually become a forensic anthropologist in a museum in New York. She heard about The Alliance in one of her classes and immediately took interest in our cause. She strives to better the lives of victims of sexual assault in any way she can. Her hobbies include singing, playing the violin, and sewing quilts at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
