How Places of Worship Can Prevent Child Sexual Abuse

Places of worship play a unique role in the lives of families and children, from instilling values to being places to build community.  The adults who work in and volunteer in these settings also hold enormous responsibility for children’s safety, including recognizing and protecting children from grooming and child sexual abuse.  Join the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence for an introductory workshop on the practical steps you can take to make your temple, mosque, or church safer for all children.

By the end of this workshop, participants will connect their place of worship’s values to preventing child sexual abuse, understand an array of options for making their place of worship safer for children, and discuss next steps they might take to make their place of worship more prevention-oriented.
